How to get the Karma Police guitar tone
Radiohead
Not quite clean, not quite dirty. That edge-of-breakup thing is genuinely hard to dial in and Radiohead got it right. The EQ sits fairly balanced, which puts all the expressive work back on touch and technique rather than frequency shaping. Layer in plate reverb and the whole thing takes on a dimension you can't get from the amp alone.
